THE LION AND THE WIRE
A downloadable Traveler's Guide
A supplement for Realis, by Austin Walker, created for the Realis Moon Jam.
Between the centers of the Leo Suzerainty and the enigmatic Circuit State, there exists four moons in proximity. They share little in common, except that their claimed lords exist in direct opposition with each other. These moons are places of danger, inevitable battlefields in the conflict between noble obligation and computational cooperation.
Lucky for you, I found this travel guide the last time I was at port. It seems a little old but it looks accurate... enough.
The Lion and the Wire Contains:
- FOUR MOONS for your party to explore in this borderland:
- Cajita, the Circuitwoods
- Clander, the Salted Circuit
- Cornella, the Dogwood Duchy Moon
- Crucigen, the Steelblack Moon
- An entirely new faction, an interpretation of the Circuit State, a collection of robots that share processing power to make governing decisions collaboratively
- A new class, The Wirewhisper, of the Sphere of Sorcery, a medium that communicates between the realms of the mechanical and the spiritual.
This travel guide's layout is meant to mimic Realis, which means it takes similarity to the Classic Explorer Template by Explorers Design which is under CC BY 4.0. It is not this exact template, as there is so Scribus template, but it uses the free fonts provided by the design. All art is public domain, found via Artvee.com. For the titles and headlines, I used IM Fell DW Pica.
Conditions of Creation:
The Lion and the Wire was written and designed on both a laptop and a desktop computer, using Google Docs and Scribus. It was completed in the author's spare time while working part time. The game was completed on the ancestral unceded lands of the Lummi and Nooksack peoples, of which stewardship has not been returned.
